Hi, I'm Jacqueline! This is my story...
“Apoksia,” meaning “to rebuild for the better” in the indigenous Choctaw language, perfectly represents my mission: to give young Americans the education and empowerment necessary to contribute to a more equitable, just society.
As a Choctaw and Chinese American woman, I found the American public school curriculum… lacking. I knew I wasn’t being taught the whole story, but I wouldn’t know just how skewed the lessons were until I entered university.
I went on to study International Studies and Political Science at Johns Hopkins University, with a concentration in Race Studies. Learning the true history of our country helped me better understand the world we live in today. Since graduating, I’ve discovered my passion for connecting with adolescents, taking what I learned in university, and making it easy for children to understand.
